Production Engineer – Cable Assembly

TBG Solutions designs and manufactures bespoke automated electrical test equipment for customers operating in demanding engineering sectors, including aerospace and defence. We are looking for a Production Engineer to provide day-to-day technical support to our Cable Assembly team. This is a practical engineering role focused on solving the problems that arise when bespoke cable and harness designs move from engineering documentation into manufacture.

You will work closely with our Cable Assembly Engineers, Electrical Design Engineers, Production Manager, Quality team, Project teams, customers and suppliers to investigate build issues, resolve technical queries, address tooling problems and improve the information and processes used to manufacture our cable assemblies. Where a build cannot fully meet the released design, you may also be responsible for documenting the issue and supporting or obtaining formal customer concession approval before work proceeds.

Because much of our work is low-volume and project-specific, you will not simply be maintaining an established production line. You will regularly encounter new assemblies, new components and engineering challenges that require practical judgement and problem solving.

TBG Solutions designs and manufactures bespoke automated test and measurement systems. Our projects bring together electrical, electronic, mechanical, software and systems engineering with in-house manufacturing and assembly. Our Cable Assembly team manufactures the bespoke harnesses and interconnection assemblies used within our test systems, and this role will provide dedicated engineering support to that operation.

Due To the nature of some of our projects, the successful candidate may be required to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
