OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and motivated MSK Specialist Podiatrist to join our outstanding team s role combines musculoskeletal expertise with a proactive approach to high‑risk foot care and prevention. You will play a key role in developing this part of our service, helping our patient population reduce the risk of limb‑threatening diabetic foot problems through early intervention and evidence‑based care.
WhatWe're Looking For
- HCPC‑registered Podiatrist with significant MSK experience.
- A passion for patient care and improving outcomes in diabetic foot health.
- Strong skills in biomechanics, orthoses, and evidence‑based interventions.
- Ability to lead, innovate, and work collaboratively.
- Deliver specialist MSK podiatry care for patients with acute and chronic foot pathologies across community clinics and local hospital settings.
- Lead the development of MSK Hubs, working alongside colleagues to provide accessible, timely, and high‑quality services.
- Coach and mentor colleagues and apprentice podiatrists, sharing your expertise to build a strong, skilled workforce.
- Support diabetic foot‑care initiatives aimed at preventing active foot disease and improving long‑term outcomes.
- Provide advanced biomechanical assessments, orthotic prescriptions, and tailored treatment plans.
- Develop outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of MSK podiatry interventions.
Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire. We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
PersonSpecification
- Essential:
- HCPC registration.
- 3 years post‑graduate experience.
- Ability to travel to different clinical locations (not all sites are accessible by public transport).
