Overview
Join Mencap as a Support Worker in Chesterfield! We're looking for caring, committed individuals to support people with learning disabilities within our care service, which consists of four adult males. They are all quite active, with three attending day centres and one working part-time. They are all quite independent but will sometimes need that little bit of help with their personal care.
You'd be helping with daily tasks, activities and personal care, where required - making a real difference every day.

ResponsibilitiesSupport people with learning disabilities within our care service, assist with daily tasks, activities and personal care where required, and help maintain their independence. Make a real difference every day by providing practical and emotional support as part of a caring team.
Qualities and Skills- Relationship Building: Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
- Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
- Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
- A genuine passion for supporting others.
- Experience with in care work is preferred but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- People who enjoy interactivity with the people we support.

- Between 10:00-22:00 (Varied shifts)
- Sleep ins at a flat rate of £63.70 per sleep
- Must be flexible to cover weekends on a rota basis
* All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references
