What you will do

  • Laboratory Testing: Perform routine and specialist analytical testing on biological samples in Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all work meets current policies, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

    Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient diagnosis and care.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate laboratory records, reports, and documentation.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee laboratory equipment and ensure appropriate stock and maintenance.
  • Training Support: Provide guidance and support to junior staff and laboratory assistants.
  • Service Development: Contribute to continuous improvement, research, and development within the department.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Registration: HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ NHS experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion.
  • Skills: Strong analytical ability, attention to detail, and understanding of laboratory processes.
  • Driving: A UK driving licence is desirable for travel between sites.
