This is a senior, client-facing role for an experienced ERP consultant with a strong track record of delivering software implementations into small and medium-sized enterprises. The position combines hands-on implementation expertise, consultative customer engagement and project delivery capability to help clients achieve measurable business outcomes through the effective use of Merlin.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to understand their business processes, objectives and challenges, carrying out detailed needs assessments and mapping requirements to Merlin capabilities.
- Provide expert guidance on best practice and software functionality, acting as a trusted advisor who can translate business needs into practical and workable solutions.
- Lead and deliver end-to-end software implementations, including installation, configuration, testing and go-live support.
- Design and build tailored solution configurations that meet client-specific requirements, balancing standard functionality with bespoke development where appropriate.
- Lead the design and deployment of integrations between Merlin and third-party systems, such as CRM, e-commerce, warehouse management, banking and payment platforms.
- Plan and manage data migration activities, ensuring data integrity, accuracy and a smooth transition from legacy systems.
- Deliver end-user training, documentation and post-implementation support so clients are confident and self-sufficient with the new system.

- Share knowledge and mentor junior consultants, contributing to the continuous improvement of implementation methodology and best practice.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proven track record of implementing ERP software into SME businesses, ideally gained in a professional services or consulting environment with a software vendor or implementation partner.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in an ERP or business software implementation/consulting role, with demonstrable end-to-end project delivery.
- Strong understanding of core business processes, including finance, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution or inventory management, and the ability to relate these to software configuration.
- Excellent customer-facing and consultative skills, with the confidence and credibility to engage stakeholders from system users through to senior leadership.
- Proficiency in software configuration, implementation methodologies and data migration tools. Working knowledge of SQL would be highly beneficial.
- Solid grounding in project management practices, including scoping, planning, RAID logs and change control, gained formally or through hands-on delivery experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, with the curiosity to understand a client’s business in depth and challenge assumptions constructively.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment, working independently and as part of a wider team.
Personal Attributes
- Proactive and self-motivated, comfortable taking ownership of a project and driving it to a successful conclusion.
- Naturally curious, with a genuine interest in how businesses work and how technology can improve them.
- Resilient and adaptable, able to remain calm and solutions-focused when priorities or client circumstances change.
- Commercially aware, understanding the value of the client relationship and the wider impact of implementation decisions.
