Phoenix Futures is seeking an experienced, passionate, and people-focused Team Manager to lead our Chesterfield team within the Derbyshire Recovery Partnership community drug and alcohol service.

Role Purpose

As Team Manager, you will lead and develop the Chesterfield team to deliver high-quality, person-centred drug and alcohol services. You will oversee day-to-day operations, drive performance and quality, and ensure positive outcomes for individuals accessing treatment and recovery support.

Working with colleagues, commissioners, and partner agencies, you will promote continuous improvement, maintain high professional standards, and support the ongoing development of services across the Derbyshire Recovery Partnership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team through effective supervision and performance management.
  • Oversee the day-to-day delivery of community-based treatment and recovery services.
  • Ensure services meet contractual, quality, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor performance and outcomes, implementing improvements where needed.
  • Support the delivery of assessments, key working interventions, and group programmes.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with commissioners, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to service development, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and recovery-focused culture within the team.
  • Ensure resources are used effectively to meet service and organisational objectives.
  • Act as an ambassador for Phoenix Futures and the Derbyshire Recovery Partnership.
Person Specification

We are looking for a passionate and motivated leader with a commitment to supporting recovery and improving lives.

You will bring:

  • Experience working within substance use services.
  • Knowledge of drug and alcohol treatment, recovery journeys, and associated issues.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management.
  • Experience of building and maintaining effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to use data to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience of line management or staff supervision (desirable).

A comprehensive induction and training programme will be provided to support your success in the role and ongoing professional development.

  • Starting salary of £28,500 per annum, with opportunity to access yearly salary increments subject to appraisal, meaning potential salary increase up to £31,750 per annum.
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing annually to a maximum of 30 days (pro rata).
