Overview
Inspire resourcing Ltd are seeking a highly skilled and self‑motivated Tool Room Operator to join thier clients engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, repair, and maintenance of precision tools, jigs, fixtures, and components. You will play a key role in supporting production by delivering high‑quality engineering solutions with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities- Manual Machining:
Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders to produce components to precise tolerances. - CNC Operation:
Set up and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc and Prototrak controllers. - Tool Maintenance:
Carry out routine maintenance, sharpening, and repair of tooling - Precision Measurement:
Perform self‑inspection using micrometres, verniers, height gauges, and other metrology equipment to ensure compliance with technical drawings. - Problem Solving:
Work from engineering drawings, sketches, or verbal instructions to manufacture one‑off components or replacement parts. - Independent Working:
Manage your own workload effectively to meet production deadlines while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
- Manual Machining Expertise:
Proven experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders. - CNC Knowledge:
Competent in CNC machine operation; experience with Fanuc and Prototrak controls is desirable. - Technical Literacy:
Strong ability to read and interpret complex 2D and 3D engineering drawings. - Self‑Motivated: A proactive, “can‑do” attitude with the ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Quality Driven:
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high‑quality precision work.
- Safety Conscious:
Adhere to all Health & Safety procedures, including correct use of PPE and machine guarding. - Risk Awareness:
Identify potential hazards in the tool room and take proactive steps to mitigate risks. - Compliance:
Maintain a clean, organised workspace and ensure all equipment is operated safely and correctly.
