Salary: £29,000 - £32,000

Francesca's Recruitment Ltd are recruiting a dedicated and reliable Quality Inspector / Goods In Operative to join a leading fresh and chilled food manufacturer based in Chesterfield. Working as part of the night‑shift team, you will play a vital role in ensuring all incoming and outgoing products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in food production, quality assurance, stock control, or chilled/fresh environments who is looking for stability, progression, and a supportive team culture.
Key Responsibilities Quality Control- Carry out quality checks on fresh and chilled food products throughout production.
- Ensure all products meet company specifications, customer requirements, and food safety standards.
- Monitor CCPs, temperature controls, labelling, and traceability.
- Complete accurate documentation and quality records.
- Report non‑conformances and support corrective actions.
- Work closely with production teams to maintain high hygiene and safety standards.
- Support audits and ensure compliance with BRC and internal procedures.
- Accurately check and record all incoming goods.
- Ensure correct stock rotation (FIFO) and maintain meticulous organisation of chilled storage areas.
- Keep all areas clean, tidy, and fully prepared for picking and production.
- Operate a forklift safely and efficiently (forklift licence required).
- Support stock counts and ensure traceability at all times.
- Experience in food manufacturing, quality control, stock control, or a chilled/fresh environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a meticulous, proactive approach.
- Confident working independently during night shifts.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with production teams.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, or BRC standards (advantageous but not essential).
- Forklift licence required for Goods In duties.
