Full Time, Permanent The Opportunity An established manufacturing business is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to drive operational excellence across a busy industrial production facility. Working closely with the General Manager, production supervisors and operational teams, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, optimise production processes and ensure the site operates safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have the opportunity to influence site performance, improve productivity and support the delivery of long-term operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities Partner with the General Manager and production leadership team to identify and implement process improvements. Analyse production performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Monitor and optimise chemical process data to maximise product quality, efficiency and cost performance. Lead root cause investigations and implement sustainable corrective actions. Develop, monitor and report on key operational KPIs including production throughput, equipment utilisation, downtime and quality performance.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction across energy consumption, raw materials and manufacturing processes. Promote a strong culture of Health, Safety and regulatory compliance. Work collaboratively with supervisors and operational teams to improve performance across the site. About You We're looking for someone with:
Experience in a manufacturing, production or process engineering environment. Knowledge of industrial machinery, chemical processes, automation systems and production technologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience conducting root cause analysis. Experience developing and monitoring operational KPIs. A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to influence change across multiple teams. The following would be advantageous:
Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies such as 6S, Kaizen and Kanban. IOSH qualification or equivalent Health & Safety certification. This position requires flexibility to provide operational support outside of normal working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, as business needs require.
