Plater – Permanent Position

Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) is recruiting for a Plater position based at our client site in Chesterfield.

Immediate start available (subject to interview process).

Rate of pay is £17.94 per hour for basic hours.

Working hours:

Monday to Thursday 6:00am – 4:30pm (four‑day working week).

• Fabrication and development on bespoke steel fabrications in a heavy engineering environment (bridges, staircases, gantries – Road & Rail).
• Use varying workshop tools, plant and machinery.
• Work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Build parts/assemblies to engineering drawings at an expert level.
• Weld to a high quality standard.
• Measure and mark out plate and sections for cutting, shaping and drilling.
• Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.

• Confident plater or fabricator.
• Ideally apprentice trained or holding relevant qualifications.
• Confident MIG welder.
• Experience operating fabrication machinery.
• Must have worked within a heavy steel industry.
• Confident working from engineering drawings from scratch.
• NVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds in Fabrication and Welding or Plating would be expected.
