About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Production Manager will take full ownership of manufacturing leadership, performance, safety, quality and continuous improvement across the operation. Leading a close-knit production team of 8, you'll ensure customer orders are delivered safely, on time, to specification and profitably, while building manufacturing capability to support the company's continued growth. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who thrives on independent ownership and delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop a small production team, driving performance and accountability
- Plan and manage production schedules, resources and workflow to meet customer demand
- Own health & safety standards across the manufacturing operation
- Maintain and improve quality management systems in line with ISO 9001
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodology
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to guide production
- Support process and product development, including new product introduction
- Act as a key member of the management team, shaping the future of the operation
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Based in the UK with the legal right to work in the UK
- Proven experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Operations Manager or similar leadership role
- Strong background in manufacturing and production environments
- Experience managing production planning, scheduling and resource allocation
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or Continuous Improvement experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Strong understanding of health, safety, quality and operational performance
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems
Desirable:
- Experience with in sensor manufacturing, instrumentation, electronics assembly or industrial manufacturing
- Knowledge of RTDs, thermocouples, mineral insulated assemblies or related technologies
- Experience supporting new product introduction and manufacturing process development
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering
