Overview

We are seeking an ambitious and results-driven Head of Sales to lead and develop our sales function from our Head Office in Chesterfield. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth, developing sales strategy, and managing a high-performing team within a dynamic and growing business.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in sales leadership, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to build lasting relationships with customers.

Experience with in the FMCG sector is highly desirable, and knowledge of the chemicals industry would be a distinct advantage.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop and implement a sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives.

* Lead, motivate, and manage the sales team to achieve and exceed revenue targets.

* Identify new business opportunities and develop strategic partnerships.

* Maintain and strengthen relationships with key customers and stakeholders.

* Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.

* Monitor and report on sales performance, forecasts, and key business metrics.

* Collaborate with operations, marketing, customer service, and senior management teams to support overall business goals.

* Manage sales budgets and ensure effective use of resources.

* Drive continuous improvement in sales processes, systems, and customer engagement.

* Support the recruitment, coaching, and development of sales personnel.

* Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and trade exhibitions.

Skills & Experience Required

* Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, such as Head of Sales, Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, or Commercial Manager.

* Strong track record of delivering sales growth and developing successful sales teams.

* Experience with in an FMCG environment is highly desirable.

* Understanding of the manufacturing or distribution sector would be advantageous.

* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

* Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.

* Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.

* Experience working with CRM systems and sales performance metrics.

* Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.

* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.

Salary of £45,000 - £55,000 depending on experience.
