Hours: 4on 4off – Days, Nights & Weekends (including short‑notice cover)

Contract Type: Full‑time

Fantastic opportunity to join the Mitie and Marks & Spencer family! We are looking for a professional and reliable Site Protection Officer (SPO) to provide high‑quality security services at the Gist Distribution Centre in Chesterfield.

As an SPO, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure working environment for colleagues, visitors, and contractors, protecting company assets, and delivering excellent customer service in line with Mitie and M&S standards.

The role requires flexibility across days, nights, and weekends, including the ability to provide short‑notice cover when required. Full training will be provided.

• Provide professional security cover at the Gist Chesterfield Distribution Centre
• Deliver excellent customer service in line with Mitie and M&S values
• Maintain high standards of appearance, conduct, and professionalism at all times
• Monitor access control systems, CCTV, and vehicle movements in accordance with site procedures
• Carry out regular internal and external patrols to ensure site safety and security
• Support the prevention and investigation of theft, stock loss, and unauthorised access
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies
• Complete accurate and timely incident reports and handovers
• Work collaboratively with the Site Protection Team Leader and site management
• Comply with all site‑specific procedures, security policies, and instructions
• Provide flexible support, including short‑notice cover when operationally required

• Literate and numerate with strong attention to detail
• Professional appearance with high personal standards
• Reliable, adaptable, and punctual
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Calm and confident under pressure with a positive attitude
• Must hold a valid front‑line SIA Licence
• Must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable vehicle

• Report hazards, incidents, and near misses promptly
• Use all equipment and PPE correctly and responsibly
