The Employment Specialist is the front line of Reed in Partnership’s Employability Division, supporting jobseekers in the community, engaging individuals across Derbyshire to generate referrals onto the Connect to Work programme, and promoting the benefits of the programme.
Responsibilities- Take ownership of a caseload of jobseekers, identifying barriers and creating tailored action plans to progress them into employment.
- Deliver personalised, one‑to‑one guidance including CV writing, interview preparation and skills development.
- Meet and exceed performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with participants to build confidence and resilience.
- Engage with local employers to identify job opportunities.
- Signpost participants to internal and external stakeholders to address barriers such as health, housing or financial challenges.
- Promote the Connect to Work programme within the community and at local events to generate referrals.
- Provide inclusive support and advice to people from all backgrounds.

- Demonstrated coaching/mentoring and influencing skills through previous work or social activities.
- Experience in a customer‑facing environment (e.g., customer services, hospitality, social care, sales).
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, performance‑target driven environment.
- Willingness to travel locally.
- Minimum of 2 A‑Levels or equivalent Level3 Diploma.
- GCSE English Language gradeB or equivalent Level2 qualification (or Level2 Literacy Assessment at interview). International equivalents accepted.
- Experience in a community engagement role (e.g., business development, outreach).
- Fluency in more than one language.
