HGV Class 2 Driver - New Passes Welcome
People Solutions are currently recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join our well-established client based in Chesterfield and the surrounding areas.
This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced and newly qualified drivers who are looking for stability, excellent earning potential and long-term progression with one of Chesterfield's leading logistics companies.
This role may be suitable for candidates with experience as an LGV Class 2 Driver
, Category C Driver or Truck Driver
.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00 start times
Pay Rate:
- £14.50 to £18.00 per hour

Day to Day Duties:
As an HGV Class 2 Driver
, your duties will include:
- Safely operating and driving Class 2 vehicles to and from delivery locations
- Delivering kitchen and bedroom products to customers' homes alongside a Driver's Mate
- Completing loading and unloading duties safely and accurately
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects
- Adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures
- Maintaining accurate delivery records and paperwork
- Communicating effectively with dispatch teams, customers and site staff
- Completing multi-drop deliveries
- Undertaking some handball duties as part of the role
Essential
Skills:
The skills required to be successful as an HGV Class 2 Driver are:
- Valid UK Category C Driving Licence
- Valid UK CPC Card
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences
- No IN, DR, DD or CD convictions
- Reliable, professional and punctual approach
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Understanding of road safety and compliance requirements
- Ability to work effectively with a Driver's Mate
Desirable
Experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience
- Multi-drop delivery experience
- Experience handling large or bulky goods
- Strong customer service skills
Training:
- Full industry-related training provided
- Ongoing support and development throughout your assignment
