Evening Cook | Dietary Aide (Must Work Both Positions)

Full-Time | Evening Shift: 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Chesterton Manor is seeking a dependable Evening Cook / Dietary Aide to join our skilled nursing facility. This position requires flexibility and the ability to work both cook and dietary aide responsibilities during the assigned shift to ensure quality meal service and a clean, safe dietary environment for our residents.
Career development opportunities are available, including potential advancement to Serv Safe Certification, Certified Dietary Manager (CDM), and training opportunities to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Key ResponsibilitiesCook Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and established portion control guidelines
- Plan food production to align with meal service schedules
- Follow standard recipes and special diet orders as prescribed
- Ensure proper food presentation, portioning, and plate appearance
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere to all sanitation, safety, and food service regulations
Dietary Aide Duties
- Assist with meal service, tray assembly, and delivery as needed
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas
- Support overall dietary operations to ensure timely and accurate meal service
Maintain compliance with infection control and safety standards
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Preferably one (1) year of dining services experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or similar healthcare environment
- Culinary school training preferred, but not required
- Ability to work both cook and dietary aide functions during scheduled shifts
