A Supervisor is involved in managing a crew of technicians in a commercial or industrial environment. They are responsible for the safety of the crew, the equipment and resources used for the task, and the quality of the work performed. This includes completing tasks on schedule, providing accurate and detailed documentation, and communicating clearly with customers and direct supervision. A Supervisor reports to a Team Lead.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Ensure a safe work environment by implementing and enforcing safe work practices.
- Communicate with the customer to ensure the scope of work and their expectations are clearly defined and understood.
- Communicate and clarify the expectations of the task to the affected employees via pre-job safety meeting.
- Lead a high-performance team by ensuring the quality of work meets or exceeds the customer expectations and always conducting business in a professional manner.
- Ensure employees are compliant with company policies and/or customer specific policies.
- Provide positive and negative feedback to employees, this includes issuing discipline when necessary, in order to promote a culture of Continuous Improvement
- Maintain and improve the condition of the equipment utilized.
- Effectively communicate with your direct supervisor/s and support staff about all relevant aspects of the work being performed.
- Ensure the work site is clean and orderly while work is being performed.
- Ensure the work site and/or equipment is returned to the customer in a safe, clean, and operational manner.
Provide direct supervision to Operators & Technicians. Develop and maintain relationships with the customer in order to meet their needs and provide opportunities for future work. Supervisors must be willing to work extended and unscheduled hours on an emergency basis. Assist with identifying the resources (equipment, personnel, supplies, etc.…) required to perform specific tasks. Assess the work site for hazards and ensure proper safeguards are in place before work commences.
Communicate the work scope and expectations to the employees. Ensure employees work safely and stay on task to complete the work as scheduled. Complete all required permits, work orders, and documents associated with the task. Provide timely updates of the work status to your direct Supervisor/s as work progresses and at the completion of the task. Upon completion of the work, ensure all equipment and supplies are returned in good condition.
Requirements and Skills
- Ability to work well and communicate professionally with a diverse work group

- Ability to identify hazards and execute hazard elimination plans
- Possess a sense of ownership for the work performed
- Must demonstrate a strong technical knowledge of Industrial Cleaning methods and equipment
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, which include but are not limited to:
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Lifting heavy loads of up to 50 pounds or more.
- Wear respiratory equipment and pass annual fit test.
- Good hand‑eye coordination.
- General physical tasks: pulling, kneeling, bending.
