BAG Production Technician

. Linde is seeking a Production Technician in Burns Harbor, IN. Under the direction of the Production Superintendent, the Production Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day monitoring and operation of 3 air separation columns and one neon refinery that produce oxygen, nitrogen, argon, and neon.

• Monitors equipment performance and makes minor adjustments such as set-ups and calibrations.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and plant upsets.
• Measures and records various data associated with operating equipment. Utilizes standard repair procedures when necessary.
• Starts and stops compressors, pumps and other equipment as necessary to meet product demand.
• Creates and executes Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Works around rotating and/or process equipment.
• Works with cryogenic liquid and gases.
• Operates plants from a computer using IFIX operating system.
• Assists drivers in an automated fill zone to safely fill their trucks.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial operations experience.
• Safe driving record.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Ability to work outdoors year-round, climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., turn large valves, and use man-lifts and forklifts within the plant site.
• Willingness to work overtime as required and be on call. Some local and overnight travel may be required.
• 12-hour rotating shift that requires working days and nights.
• Experience with gauges, pressure switches, analyzers, and manual and automatic control valves.
