Material Handler

Material Handler – The Dixon Group is hiring a Material Handler to join our skilled manufacturing team in Chestertown, MD
. You’ll transport parts and components safely throughout the facility, maintaining a steady flow of materials to work centers. Stay in tune with demand signals and ensure each area has the supplies needed to stay on schedule.

Location: 365 Haacke Drive, Chestertown, MD 21620
Hours: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Pay: $17.00–$20.00 per hour + 15% Shift Differential

You’ll also learn all aspects of our shipping and receiving operations, including overhead cranes and both walk‑behind and ride‑on forklifts. If you enjoy working in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment and take pride in supporting a team that builds quality products, we’d love to have you on board!

• Operate weight and count scale.
• Outsource material from factory to warehouse on a daily basis.
• Rectify inventory issues.
• Use proper materials for packing (pallet, box).
• Create manifests for shipping to outside vendors.
• Communicate with warehouse and factory shuttle drivers as needed.
• Assist the clamp department with material functions to keep production flowing.
• Help the pre‑pack department when time permits.
• Assist other material handlers on the factory floor – moving cardboard, empty cages, washing parts, etc.
• Assist with other areas of material handling as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Forklift certified.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn, follow procedures and work independently.
• Reliable, team‑oriented mindset with excellent time‑management.
• Strong organizational skills and sense of accountability.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb and stand for extended periods.
