Summary
The Asset Protection Detective protects customers, colleagues, and store assets. This in-store role uses investigative skills and technology to help prevent theft and support a safe shopping environment.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers while working on the selling floor.
- Identify and observe suspected shoplifting, and apprehend individuals when appropriate.
- Support store shortage reduction efforts in partnership with departments.
- Maintain building safety and security, including opening and closing the building when needed.
- Operate and monitor CCTV systems and apply relevant state and local laws.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years of related experience.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing priorities.
- Ability to meet applicable licensing requirements and work flexible retail hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, work in surveillance areas, lift or move up to 30 pounds, and apprehend shoplifters.
