* ** The Health & Safety Professional works in the field at our client project sites throughout the United States.*
* ** Job Objective*
* The Health & Safety Professional 1 plans and implements health and safety programs for assigned construction projects in compliance with corporate and client safety program standards, the PGL Occupational Safety & Health Policy Manual, and the Site-Specific Safety Plan. Collaborates with the construction lead to ensure onsite personnel adhere to all health and safety standards; this includes company, client, and subcontractor personnel.
Work is performed under general supervision on basic to highly complex projects.
The Health & Safety Professional 1 may assist other Safety Professionals or Managers on large or highly complex projects.
** Primary Duties and Responsibilities*
* + Provides overall health and safety direction on assigned projects sites.
+ Responsible for daily safety program at the construction site (i.e. administration of the PGL Occupational Safety & Health Policy Manual, Training, Job Safety Analysis, etc.).
+ Documents accidents/incidents as well as near misses and issues the documentation accordingly.
+ Perform accident/incident investigations to identify root cause and generate recommendations to reduce or eliminate hazards.
+ Perform follow-up investigations to verify effectiveness.
+ Plan, organize, develop and implement various required occupational safety training.
+ Develop, review and revise written safety related plans.
+ Ensures all field personnel adhere to all PGL, client and project safety policies, procedures, etc. (verifies all PGL personnel are properly trained).
+ Maintains official documentation files for all projects.
+ Prepare regulatory required reports to outside enforcement agencies when applicable.
+ Provide safety orientation to new personnel arriving at job site.
+ Conduct project safety orientation at beginning of construction to all contractors and construction personnel.
+ Provides monthly safety reports.
+ Performs daily job site inspections and uses the Daily Inspection Checklist / Predictive Solutions app.
+ Provide construction photographs, when applicable, to safety issues.
+ Leads Monthly Safety Moment Meeting
+ Collaborates and assists in the development of the site-specific safety plan (SSSP) for project
+ Pay range minimum: $68,640
+ Pay range maximum: $112,320
** Skills & Abilities*
* + Good understanding of all federal, state, local health and safety regulations and how to properly administer them.
+ Good ability to recognize hazardous situations and assist in implementing corrective measures IS essential.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Strong interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality.
** Qualifications*
* + High school diploma or equivalent plus eight (8) years of relevant experience
+ Associate degree plus five (5) years of relevant experience
+ Bachelor's degree plus two (2) years of relevant experience.
+ The associate or bachelor's degree must be in Safety Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.
