This position is one of two roles responsible for the day-to-day fiscal collection and reconciliation of over $70 million each fiscal year. It performs critical cash handling, deposit, and reconciliation duties to ensure accurate and timely revenue processing and strong internal controls. It also provides administrative support to the agency and assists with maintaining the State Rules Database.

- Manages deposit functions and reconciliations. Submits the daily desktop deposit to the State’s financial institution, takes cash or foreign monies to the bank for proper deposit, and processes daily credit card reconciliations.
- Maintains petty cash per established policy and procedures.
- Assists with Pre-Paid Account Deposits (PAD) activation and deactivations, monitors the monthly PAD statements and all outstanding invoices.
- Accurately processes a high volume of Accounts Payable (A/P) transactions within the Wyoming Online Financial System (WOLFS/CGI).
- Ensures strict adherence to fiscal policy, including verification of all proper signatures and approvals prior to transaction entry.
- Applies established accounting procedures and regulations in maintaining financial records and other fiscal documents.
- Researches and analyzes data.
- Assists with ACH bank returns, deposit corrections, and NSFs.
- Assists with the interpretation of Wyoming statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Assists agencies with the rule-making process, ensuring timely and accurate information is available to the public.
- Assists with fiscal procedures and processes and may recommend methods for improving operations.
- Handles incoming calls, provides requested information, redirects callers as necessary, and manages customer email correspondence.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preference will be shown to applicants having experience or education in accounting/bookkeeping, along with exceptional customer service skills. Additional preference may be given to applicants with experience in the Wyoming Online Financial System (WOLFS/CGI).
KNOWLEDGE:- Knowledge of internal control processes.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Knowledge of Wyoming Online Financial System (WOLFS/CGI).
- Detail oriented.
- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Finance) - Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician. - OR
- Education & Experience Substitution: 3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.
