Job Summary:

As a Dietary Aide at Polaris, you play a vital role in providing our residents with nutritious, well‑balanced meals tailored to their health needs and preferences. You’ll support the kitchen team in food preparation, service, sanitation, and inventory, all while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming dining experience that promotes our residents’ overall well‑being.

• Prepare and serve meals according to specified dietary requirements and portion sizes.
• Follow recipes and maintain a clean, sanitary cooking environment.
• Assemble meal trays accurately and accommodate resident substitutions.
• Serve snacks and beverages between meals as directed.
• Assist with special diets, food allergies, and therapeutic meal plans.
• Sanitize kitchen equipment, dining areas, and utensils regularly.
• Clean serving areas, mop floors, and dispose of trash according to safety standards.
• Maintain a safe, organized kitchen and food storage environment.
• Collaborate with dietary and nursing staff to address residents’ dietary concerns.
• Review menus and ensure trays match diet orders.
• Help train new nutrition services staff and students.
• Monitor and restock supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in food service or healthcare dietary support preferred but not required – we will train the right candidate.
• Compassionate & patient; deliver service with empathy and kindness.
• Attention to detail; follow recipes and dietary guidelines precisely.
• Team player; collaborate with coworkers across departments to meet resident needs.
• Food safety knowledge; basic understanding of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
