Data Drone builds 0-1 SaaS products and the team that ships them. No bosses, no managers — the playbook manages, the copilot tracks. Every role owns a small, defined space with extreme accountability. Between the first touchpoint and the sales conversation, automation does the heavy lifting — nurture sequences, lead scoring, retargeting, and handoff — all running while the team focuses on what requires a human.
WhatYou'll Do
You'll own the automated marketing stack. Email nurture sequences that deliver the right content at the right time. Lead scoring that identifies when a prospect is ready for Sales. Marketing-to-sales handoff that fires automatically with full context. Retargeting that re-engages prospects who showed interest but didn't convert. You configure it, monitor it, optimize it, and document it.
Daily Rhythm (How You Operate)- Daily: monitor automation health — sequence errors, delivery issues, stuck leads.
- Per lead: verify the marketing-to-sales handoff fires with full engagement history, calibrated to intent.
- Weekly: watch email deliverability — sender reputation, bounce rates, spam complaints.
- Quarterly: validate the lead scoring model against actual conversions and recalibrate when it drifts.
- Always: document every sequence, rule, and trigger — the SOP is the deliverable.
- Design and manage email nurture sequences — triggers, content flow, timing, exit conditions
- Own the lead scoring model — dimensions, weights, thresholds, quarterly validation
- Automate the marketing-to-sales handoff — qualified leads reach Sales with full engagement history
- Configure retargeting audiences from behavioral data — intent-based, not spray-and-pray
- Monitor automation health daily — sequence errors, delivery issues, stuck leads
- Maintain marketing automation SOPs — every sequence, every rule, every trigger documented
- You've built and managed marketing automation sequences — not just email blasts, behavioral-triggered nurture flows.
- You understand lead scoring: what signals predict buying intent, how to weight them, and how to validate the model against actual conversions.
- You can configure marketing-to-sales handoff rules and verify they work end-to-end.
- You monitor email deliverability: sender reputation, bounce rates, spam complaints. You know why these matter.
- You document your automations. Every sequence, every trigger, every scoring rule — written down, not memorized.
- You can work with CRM data: lead statuses, engagement history, conversion tracking.
- Marketing automation platform experience (Hub Spot, Marketo, Active Campaign, or similar)
- Experience with retargeting audience configuration (Meta, paid search)
- Experience with lead scoring model design and validation
- Experience with n8n or Zapier for cross-system automation
- Experience with email deliverability optimization
- Automation is a system, not a set-and-forget. Active monitoring. Regular validation. Content refresh. Scoring recalibration. The automation runs autonomously, but the operator never does.
- Lead scoring must predict, not just count. A score that doesn't correlate with conversion is a random number. Validate against reality. Adjust when it drifts.
- The handoff is the moment of truth. A qualified lead that sits in the marketing funnel because the handoff didn't fire is a lead that went cold while the system watched.
- Deliverability is earned. Inbox placement depends on reputation, list hygiene, and content quality. Protect it.
- Document everything. If the automation is in your head, it's a single point of failure. SOPs are the deliverable, not just the automation.
- Match intensity to intent. One blog visit doesn't warrant an 8-email drip. A pricing page visit + demo page…
