SAFETY COORDINATOR – Cheyenne, WY at MP Nexlevel, LLC
We are looking for a Safety Coordinator to improve safety performance for a designated operational area. The role delivers leadership in developing, implementing, and administering safety policies that align with company safety programs and comply with all applicable regulations. The safety coordinator works closely with operations personnel and the Corporate Safety Director to resolve safety issues, promote accident prevention, and foster a safe work environment.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct safety across a geographic region, including decision‑making around program priorities and forecasting future needs.
- Provide leadership for workplace safety policy development, implementation, and training programs.
- Serve as liaison to resolve safety issues and promote accident prevention.
- Ensure employees understand and comply with safety regulations.
- Design and implement initiatives to improve safety performance, reduce injuries and illness, and maximize regulatory compliance.
- Work with the Safety Director to develop, implement, and evaluate safety programs meeting business and regulatory requirements.
- Interpret federal, state, and local safety rules and recommend, author, and communicate training and guidelines.
- Promote Global Safety Charter principles.
- Maintain CPR/first‑aid certification recognized by OSHA or local authority.
- Maintain incident logs (OSHA 300 or equivalent).
- Approve PTPs and JHAs as necessary.
- Verify execution of special procedures (confined space entry, hot work, etc.).
- Ensure safety orientation completion for all employees.
- Verify safety training certifications and records.
- Coordinate regulatory agency inspections.
- Meet additional requirements defined in SSSPs, internal standards, and agency regulations.
- Document observations and use required software platforms.
- Minimum 5+ years field safety experience.
- BS degree in Safety or Health related field desired.
- CUSP safety certification a plus.
- Knowledge of Workers Compensation and General Liability claim processes.
- Ability to communicate technical information to field personnel and executive management.
- Demonstrated ability to review contractors’ health and safety plans.
- Possess relevant certification/education: e.g., CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, IOSH member, OSHA 30‑hour Construction Outreach Training course.
- Minimum of three years’ experience with similar project size.
- Calm, responsive in emergencies; works effectively with others.
- High motivation, self‑starter, strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Availability to work occasional weekends.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Frequent travel to work sites.
