We are currently looking for an Assembler to join our team in Cheyenne, WY.
OverviewPurpose of the position:
The Assembler is responsible for grinding, welding, fitting, and assembling all steel, iron, and manganese rail points for track work related products to engineering specifications.
- Operate hydraulic benders or presses to straighten manganese castings
- Safely operate jib and overhead cranes
- Ability to operate grinder, welder and power tools
- Proficiently assemble all switch points built at the plant
- Safely operate powered industrial truck
- Able to work with little supervision
- Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies
- Routine cleanup of work area
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing
- Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
- Regularly lift and move up to 10-15 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 70 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Hearing abilities related to the job
- High School graduate or GED preferred
- Welding, Forklift and Crane certification preferred
- Ability to read work orders, ITPs, blueprints, rulers and tape measures
- Basic mathematical calculation experience (adding/subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals)
- Experience in Railroad Industry is a plus
