We are currently looking for an Assembler to join our team in Cheyenne, WY.

Purpose of the position:
The Assembler is responsible for grinding, welding, fitting, and assembling all steel, iron, and manganese rail points for track work related products to engineering specifications.

• Operate hydraulic benders or presses to straighten manganese castings
• Safely operate jib and overhead cranes
• Ability to operate grinder, welder and power tools
• Proficiently assemble all switch points built at the plant
• Safely operate powered industrial truck
• Able to work with little supervision
• Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies
• Routine cleanup of work area
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing
• Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms
• Regularly lift and move up to 10-15 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 70 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
• Hearing abilities related to the job

• High School graduate or GED preferred
• Welding, Forklift and Crane certification preferred
• Ability to read work orders, ITPs, blueprints, rulers and tape measures
• Basic mathematical calculation experience (adding/subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals)
• Experience in Railroad Industry is a plus
