Concrete Tie Technician – voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak

Join our team as a Concrete Tie Technician at voestalpine Railway Systems Nortrak. We are North America's premier designer and manufacturer of special trackwork.

The Concrete Tie Technician is responsible for operating machines and equipment safely and efficiently during the production process.

• Prestressed concrete setup.
• Maintain and operate hand and power tools such as saw, flipping station, casting machine, stressing system, utility tractor, overhead cranes, hydraulic lifts, forklifts, and cranes.
• Prepare and handle production templates throughout the production process.
• Clean up the production area regularly.
• Read and follow the production schedule.
• Work effectively in teams.
• Work with little supervision.
• Adhere to Nortrak's Safety, Quality, and Environmental procedures, practices, and policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or climbing.
• Use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly lift and move up to 20-25 pounds, occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Hearing abilities related to the job.

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Experience with forklift and crane operations preferred.
• Knowledge of operating hand and power tools such as saw, flipping station, casting machine, stressing system, utility tractor, overhead cranes, hydraulic lifts.
• Ability to read work orders, ITPs, blueprints, rulers, and tape measures.
• Basic mathematical calculation (adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals).
• Experience in construction industry is a plus.
• PCI experience or certification preferred.
• ACI experience or certification preferred.
• Less experience will also be considered.
