Pay range per hour: $21.00 - $35.70. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including labor markets, education, work experience and certifications.

ALL ABOUT SERVICE & ENGAGEMENT

Advocates of guest experience who welcome, thank, and exceed guest service expectations by focusing on guest interaction and recovery. They advocate for both in-store and digital services, ensuring exceptional quality at checkout lanes, guest services, gift registry, pick-up and drive up, while ensuring guest loyalty.

Key Skills and Experience
  • Guest service fundamentals, experience building a guest‑first team culture and driving loyalty programs
  • Guest engagement, problem solving and resolution
  • Retail business fundamentals: department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies
  • Planning department(s) daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver service and sales goals
  • Leading a team of hourly team members; skills in interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent
Typical Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate inclusivity by valuing diverse voices and approaches, being authentic and respectful, and creating equitable experiences.
  • Lead a team of passionate Guest Advocates, Service Advocates and Front of Store Attendants aiming to exceed guest service expectations.
  • Onboard and coach team members, driving skill gaps closure through development and coaching.
  • Understand sales goals, business reporting and guest insights to plan and execute daily/weekly workload.
  • Support Target Loyalty Programs and educate team on suite of benefits.
  • Support direct leader on training completion, check for understanding and continuous education opportunities.
  • Engage in meaningful development conversations throughout critical touch points in the team’s career path.
  • Personalize recognition and appreciation to reinforce guest service behaviors.
  • Build a culture of accountability with clear expectations and performance management.
  • Respond quickly to guest concerns, de‑escalating situations and ensuring resolution.
  • Keep team up‑to‑date on major promotions, brand launches and events.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest‑centric team.
  • Work a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs (early morning, evening, closing, overnight shifts, holidays and weekends).
  • Enable team members to deliver pick‑up and drive‑up orders efficiently and accurately.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct and compliance, holding team accountable.
  • Model a safety culture: recognize safe behaviors, identify hazards, assist with incident response and report injuries accurately.
  • Welcome guests and engage them in a friendly, helpful manner.
  • Lead by thanking guests and showing appreciation for choosing Target.
  • Model physical security processes to enhance in‑store security culture.
  • Support merchandise protection strategies across the store.
  • Follow safe and secure training and processes as required.
  • Address all store emergency and compliance needs.
  • All other duties as needed by business.
