GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Description and Functions Open Until Filled The Wyoming Department of Family Services is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Intake Support Specialist to assist in the critical work of protecting children and vulnerable adults. This position serves as the first point of contact for reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation and plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate information is documented for further investigation and case management.

- Transports clients to appointments, visitations, treatment centers, and foster care facilities.
- Sets up visitation schedules.
- Supervises parental visits with children and monitors telephone calls.
- Conducts parenting classes.
- Gives testimony in court regarding observation of the client and the family.
- Assists with file management, computer file entries, and case narratives; ensures that all data is accurate and up-to-date in WYCAPS system.
- Provides in-home checks and services.
- Monitors urinalysis, school grades, and attendance.
- Fully documents all contact with clients and children.
- Confers with the Social Services Worker regarding client progress and case plans.
Agency requires that the successful applicant possess a valid driver’s license.
KNOWLEDGE- Knowledge of parenting.
- Knowledge of policies regarding child protection and benefits.
- Knowledge of the community or institution to be served.
Education: High School Diploma
Experience: 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Social Services Programs)
Education & Experience Substitution: 1-3 years of progressive work experience (typically in Social Services Programs)

Non-exempt - All positions within the Department of Family Services will require a background information check, including taking fingerprints, which will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for every successful applicant.
