Function

This position is for a Seasonal Driver for the 2025 Christmas season (November 3 – December 31). The driver will cooperate with the Corps Officer and other leaders to support the Ministry of The Salvation Army by transporting goods and persons related to the annual Red Kettle Fundraising Campaign and Toy Distribution.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Transport Kettle supplies and workers to and from kettle locations.
• Collect toy donations and transport them to the Angel Tree warehouse.
• Pickup and drop‑off materials related to the Christmas season.
• Be able to lift 50 lbs. in a single load.
• Able to drive at night and in inclement or adverse weather.
• Maintain routine vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
• Maintain logs and documents associated with the Christmas season.
• Assist in counting, sorting, and storing Kettle monies and toy donations.
• Interact well with all persons encountered, from staff, volunteers, and community members.

Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications

• Minimum High School Diploma.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Communicate clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work flexibly within the assigned days.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining poise under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience working with management.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
• Ability to produce information from a computer.
• Ability to motivate and encourage staff and volunteers.
• Driving – minimum age of 21 (for insurance provision) and possession of a valid in‑state driver’s license required.
• An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies.
• Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial background check.

• Ability to operate a telephone.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds.
• Ability to access and produce information from a computer.
• Ability to understand written information.
