Site Manager – Southern Water Framework – Chichester, West Sussex
Within our Environment Business Division (Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Engineering), we are seeking a Site Manager to support the delivery of water and wastewater projects across the Southern Water Framework.
In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of multi‑disciplinary civil engineering projects, helping achieve strong outcomes across programme, cost, safety, and quality.
What you'll be doing:- Leading day‑to‑day site management, including developing, monitoring, and delivering the programme
- Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental (HSE), and quality standards in line with company procedures
- Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date site diaries and project records
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and subcontractors
- Producing weekly and monthly progress reports
- Managing sections of work, including supervising and supporting the site team and supply chain
- Reporting progress and performance to the Project Manager
- Ensuring risk assessments, method statements, permit‑to‑work systems, site inductions, and safety briefings are completed
- Carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly inspections in line with Business Management System (BMS) requirements
- Ensuring quality assurance (QA) processes and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) are developed, maintained, and followed

- Experience working at Site Manager level (typically 5+ years or equivalent experience)
- Relevant industry qualifications (HNC/HND or higher, or equivalent)
- Understanding of engineering and construction principles and practices
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards
- Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment processes or similar sectors
- Experience applying CDM health and safety responsibilities, including managing design and technical risk
- Relevant certifications such as CSCS, SMSTS, First Aid, IOSH Environmental (or equivalent)
- Confidence using IT systems, including MS Excel and document management tools
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical abilities
- Experience supporting, coordinating, or leading teams
- Temporary Works Coordinator certification
- Water hygiene training
- EUSR (1 & 2 USC)
