Director of Local Government Reorganisation

Ribble Recruitment are recrutiing for an experienced senior transformation leader to direct the Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) programme across West Sussex.

This is a high-profile, system-wide leadership role responsible for delivering a safe, legal and well-planned transition to a new operating model. You will lead a complex portfolio of work streams, ensuring strong governance, financial control, service continuity and effective stakeholder engagement throughout.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the LGR portfolio and set the delivery roadmap

• Lead the Portfolio Management Office and coordinate all work streams

• Establish robust governance, risk and assurance frameworks

• Work closely with Members, Chief Executives and senior leaders

• Oversee workforce transition (including TUPE), finance, digital, assets and service integration

• Ensure safe and compliant go-live with minimal service disruption

About You

You will bring:

• Proven leadership of large-scale public sector transformation or reorganisation

• Strong programme and portfolio management expertise

• Experience working with elected Members and senior political stakeholders

• Financial and commercial oversight capability

• High political awareness and collaborative leadership style
