Production Operative

We are working with a leading manufacturing company committed to precision, quality, and innovation. With a strong reputation in the industry, they are expanding their production team and seeking a skilled Saw Operator and Forklift Driver.

Key Responsibilities

Saw Machine

• Measuring, cutting, and preparing natural and engineered wood for saw machinery operations.
• Operating Homag SAW to precise specifications from technical drawings.
  
  Operating Biesse Stream A Edge Banding Machine, setting up and operating according to specifications.
• Properly feeding wood panels and adjusting settings for quality edge banding.
• Inspecting finished products for defects and ensuring quality standards are met.
• Achieving daily production targets

Forklift

• Operating a counterbalance forklift to move, position, and manage oversized and heavy wood panels throughout the factory.
• Manoeuvring the forklift confidently and safely within tight spaces and a busy factory environment.
• Handling large-format panels with care and precision to avoid damage to materials and equipment.
• Supporting the wider team with material handling and stock movement as required.

Requirements

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential.
• Proven experience operating a forklift in a manufacturing or industrial environment, including handling oversized loads and working in confined or tight spaces.
• Previous experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment is essential.
• Previous experience operating machinery and hand power tools.
• High attention to detail and level of accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills with a can-do attitude and focus on meeting deadlines and targets.
• Numeracy and literacy with the ability to read paperwork and understand measurements.
• Excellent attendance and timekeeping.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and work overtime when required.

Monday - Thursday 07:30 to 04:30, Friday 07:30 to 12:30
