We are currently partnering with a fast-growing, international logistics specialist to recruit a Freight & Customs Coordinator based in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team operating in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment with a strong focus on international shipping and customs compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate export shipments (approximately 90%) and import shipments (10%) from the UK, ensuring timely delivery within budget across airfreight, road freight, and courier methods
  • Prepare all required documentation to ensure smooth customs clearance, including AWBs, T1s, POAs, CBP documentation, Security Declarations, Art Declarations, and Lacey Act documentation
  • Manage export customs declarations (free circulation, bond, and temporary admission) via eCustoms using CDS, ensuring correct tariff codes and CPCs are applied
  • Provide proactive customer support to overseas importers, advising them on how to complete required customs documentation
  • Coordinate and manage overseas agents and specialist partners (including white glove providers) to ensure seamless shipment completion
  • Monitor and update internal systems with shipment progress and reporting
  • Troubleshoot complex freight scenarios and proactively resolve operational challenges
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the Freight & Customs function
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Care and Warehouse teams to ensure operational
Qualifications

We are keen to speak with candidates who bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience managing courier shipments (e.g., DHL, Fed Ex or similar) and air cargo bookings directly with airlines
  • Strong working knowledge of export customs processes and documentation
  • Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment and effectively prioritise tasks
  • High attention to detail with a proven track record of accurate documentation handling
  • Experience in art shipping and/or within a startup environment (desirable but not essential)
  • A proactive mindset with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies
