As our Accounts Receivable Specialist, you keep the revenue engine of that mission running — making sure our customers, cobrand partners, and sales channels are billed, collected, and reconciled accurately and on time. Your accuracy and follow-through directly support the trust our partners place in Klean Kanteen.

• Be an advocate for Klean Kanteen’s mission in every interaction with customers, partners, and teammates.
• Actively support and embody Klean Kanteen values of Respect, Responsibility, and Fun.
• Foster a culture of transparency with the team, partners, suppliers, and consumers.
• Follow and continuously improve departmental processes and procedures.
• Measure and monitor progress against objectives and performance targets.

• Create and maintain customer accounts in Sage, Shopify, and Avalara.
• Set up sales reps and commission structures.
• Collect and maintain sales tax certificates.
• Process prepaid orders for cobrand and wholesale accounts.
• Invoice current shipments via Sage, Mapadoc, and vendor portals.
• Close all batches by day, week, and month
• Manage collections
• Research and respond to account and customer inquiries.
• Cancel and process refunds for DTC orders.
• Process AR credit card payments in Sage.
• Enter deposits from cash accounts.
• Enter web-to-checking transfers from cash accounts.
• Monitor the accounts receivable aging report and follow up proactively on past-due balances.
• Partner with Sales and Customer Service to resolve billing and invoicing discrepancies.
• Support new customer credit reviews and set up terms.

• Cross-train on the Accounts Payable role.
• Perform other finance tasks as directed (mailing invoices, etc.).

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Professional communication skills, written and verbal.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
• Consistently drives for results and maintains a high level of accuracy.
• Experience with Sage, Shopify, and/or Avalara a plus.

• High School Graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required.
• Basic bookkeeping preferred.

• 1-2 years’ experience in an office environment preferred (bookkeeping, collections, or basic accounting function).

• Desktop PC, standard office equipment (printers, faxes, copiers).
• MS Office suite.
• Sage, Shopify, Avalara, and Mapadoc.

• Standard business / cubicle environment.
• Bending, and reaching forward, sideways, and overhead.
• Finger dexterity to perform functions on computer, 10-key, and to access files.
• Sitting for long periods at a time.
