Working independently, under general direction, the Study Abroad and Exchange (SAE) Program Coordinator oversees all aspects of day‑to‑day operational matters for SAE Programs within International Education & Global Engagement (IEGE). Incumbent performs highly complex professional Student Services work, reviewing the most difficult individual, group or organizational problems. Incumbent utilizes a combination of high-level analytical and interpersonal skills in working on complex program‑wide organizational matters from investigation and analysis through solution and implementation.

Incumbent provides consultative services to campus administration and faculty, acts as a spokesperson regarding these programs, coordinates study abroad, international exchange and National Student Exchange (NSE) program activities and leads a team of two SSP staff, student employees and interns, to facilitate administration of the Study Abroad and Exchange Programs for Chico State.

• Equivalent to graduation from a four‑year college or university in a related field plus upper‑division or graduate coursework in counseling techniques, interviewing, and conflict resolution where such are job related.
• Possession of these knowledge and abilities is typically demonstrated through the equivalent of four years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes advising students individually and in groups, and analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
• A master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or a related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience.
• A doctorate degree and the appropriate internship or clinical training in counseling, guidance or a related field may be substituted for two years of the required professional experience for positions with a major responsibility for professional, personal or career counseling.

• Personal experience studying or living overseas.
• Minimum two years’ experience in a study abroad or international education office.
• Experience using a variety of data management systems, CRM and social media applications (e.g. People Soft, Salesforce, Terra Dotta).
• Effective oral and written communication in two or more languages.
• Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds.

Pay Plan: 12/12
Work Schedule: Mon‑Fri 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, Summer:
Mon‑Thu 7:00 am‑5:30 pm
Salary Range: $75,840 – $108,168 per year (CSU Classification Salary Range)
