Department Summary:

Working independently under general supervision, the Outreach Support Coordinator (ASC I) provides critical planning, coordination, promotions, communications, and implementation assistance to support an array of student success activities, events, programs, and processes. Incumbent is a key member of the Grad Studies coordinating team and provides administrative support for an extensive outreach and recruitment program, student research competitions, new student orientations, Giving Day campaigns, GRADtoberfest, Grad Café, graduate student clubs and organizations, and the Small Travel Grant program.

Incumbent works collaboratively with the graduate studies dean and staff to support graduate faculty and programs by assisting with research, data collection and analysis, policy and template updates, and report drafting for developing Periodic Program Reviews, grant proposals, curriculum and program proposals, and new blended-program implementation.

Required

Education and Experience:

This position requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. These qualifications, and those listed above, would normally be obtained through completion of a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with three years of related office work experience.

Preferences:
  • Strong understanding of university’s graduate education processes and policies, and ability to clearly communicate them to potential and current graduate students
  • Recruitment and outreach experience to assist students to explore, prepare, apply, enroll, and succeed in postbaccalaureate degree programs
  • Excellent verbal communication skills including public speaking, with experience presenting to diverse student, faculty, or community groups.
  • Strong computer and graphic design skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Suite or similar programs, and the University style guide
  • Student or program data collection, analysis, assessment, reporting, and presentation
  • Experience with student travel and reimbursement procedures
  • Experience managing multiple responsibilities and priorities in a fast-paced office environment
  • Experience in supporting academic and social networks serving a wide array of students and groups

Work Schedule:

Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, Summer:
Mon-Thurs 7:00am-5:30pm

CSU Classification Salary Range:

$48,564 (Step
1)- $70,752 (Step 20) per year.
