Job/Department Summary

Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President, Equal Opportunity and Dispute Resolution, the incumbent will investigate EEO, Discrimination, Harassment, Retaliation, Title IX, and other complaints. The incumbent will coordinate between HR units and the campus community to investigate university matters, resolve disputes, and address grievances and complaints. The essential duties require interpreting and applying specific policies and procedures, performing research, preparing reports with recommendations, conducting analytical investigations, developing strategic solutions, and possibly handling highly confidential and sensitive information.

The incumbent will work independently and collaboratively within a diverse campus community.

Required Education And Experience

Must possess the experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments. This experience is normally obtained through a degree or professional training in Law, Business Management, Public Administration, or Human Resources, along with two years of related work experience in Employee Relations or investigations.

The equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferences

Preference may be given to applicants with the following skills:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, investigations, or law-related disciplines
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care
  • Strong writing and analytical skills
  • Experience in higher education
  • Experience developing and delivering training programs
  • Experience working with diverse communities and promoting diversity

Additional Details

Full-time, 12/12 pay plan, Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, with summer hours. Salary range: $47,256 - $140,436/year, anticipated hiring range up to $90,000/year depending on experience. Benefits include tuition fee waiver and other CSU employee benefits. The position requires passing a background check, maintaining a valid California Driver’s License, and working evenings/weekends as needed.
