Position SummaryProvide quality patient care under the direction of the physician in a clinic setting.
Responsibilities- Obtain a detailed history and perform physical examination on all patients.
- Document history, exam, and assessment in the medical record appropriately.
- Order ancillary services such as X‑ray, lab tests, and pulmonary function tests, interpreting and evaluating the results.
- Consult and collaborate with other specialists and clinic staff as required.
- Prescribe appropriate treatments following established clinic protocols.
- Participate actively in the clinic Quality Assurance Program.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of advanced practice nurse protocols and standards of care.
- Serve 12‑15 patients per shift (7‑8 hour work day) under normal working conditions.
- Current California licensure as Certified Nurse Midwife.
- Current California Certified Nurse Midwife Furnishing License.
- Prefer DEA number registration.
- Current CPR BLS Certification.
- Valid California driver’s license and proof of personal liability automobile insurance as required by California state law.
- Prefer ACLS certification.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Works well with other health care professionals.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information in clinic and community setting.
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in age‑appropriate care, using growth and development knowledge to plan care for all age groups.
- Motivated to improve patient care and the workplace by participating in clinic meetings, committees, and community projects when appropriate.
