Position Summary

Provide quality patient care under the direction of the physician in a clinic setting.

Responsibilities
  • Obtain a detailed history and perform physical examination on all patients.
  • Document history, exam, and assessment in the medical record appropriately.
  • Order ancillary services such as X‑ray, lab tests, and pulmonary function tests, interpreting and evaluating the results.
  • Consult and collaborate with other specialists and clinic staff as required.
  • Prescribe appropriate treatments following established clinic protocols.
  • Participate actively in the clinic Quality Assurance Program.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and revision of advanced practice nurse protocols and standards of care.
  • Serve 12‑15 patients per shift (7‑8 hour work day) under normal working conditions.
Qualifications
  • Current California licensure as Certified Nurse Midwife.
  • Current California Certified Nurse Midwife Furnishing License.
  • Prefer DEA number registration.
  • Current CPR BLS Certification.
  • Valid California driver’s license and proof of personal liability automobile insurance as required by California state law.
  • Prefer ACLS certification.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Works well with other health care professionals.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information in clinic and community setting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in age‑appropriate care, using growth and development knowledge to plan care for all age groups.
  • Motivated to improve patient care and the workplace by participating in clinic meetings, committees, and community projects when appropriate.
