- Knowledgeandexperienceinasphaltrakingtechniques
- Knowledgeofhowtouseashovel,tamps,andotherhandtools,etc.
- Knowledgeofmaterialsandmethodsinvolvedinpaving
- Abilitytoidentifyandperformsimplerepairsonbasichandtools
- Abilitytoread,writeandunderstandbasicmeasurementssuchasinches,feet&yards
- Abilitytounderstandandfollowverbalandwritteninstructions
- Abilitytoeffectivelycommunicateverballyandinwriting
- Self-starter,senseofurgencytomeetprojectdeadlines
- Strongabilitytomultitaskandsetprioritieseffectively
- Beflexibleandadaptabletochange
- Demonstrateprofessionalismandstriveforexcellence
- Excellent hand,eyeandfootcoordination
- Assistpavingcrewwithvariousduties,primarilyraking,butalsowithsuchdutiesas;shoveling,runningwheelbarrow,andusingothervarioussmalltools.
- Assistcrewmemberswiththejoblayoutbyaccurateplacementofstakesandstrings,paint,chalktomarkperimeterofjobasdirected
- Signaloperatorsofconstructionequipmenttofacilitatealignment,movement,andmaterialswithshovel.
- Assistintheplacement,moving,anddismantlingofsigns,barricades,conesandothertrafficcontroldevices.
- Followdirectionofforemanastodailytasksandexpectationsforeachspecificproject.
- Regularandpredictableattendanceisrequired.
- Participateasateammemberinanenvironmentofsafetyandsuccess.
- Promote,executeandadheretothe
Company’sSafety
Program,andencourageallemployees,subcontractorsandconsultantstoadoptsafetyasaculture. - Understandthetechniquesoffinishrakinginordertoachievepropergradeandslope
- Workisperformedinanoutdoorenvironmentwhichcanincludeinclementweather,coldand/orheatandhumidity.
- Exposuretosun,dust,asphaltandotherconstructionconditions.
- Overtimeandlongdaysmayberequireddependingonprojectflow.
- Constantphysicaleffort,includingstandingforperiodsoftimewhileoperatingtoolsormachinery.
Employeemustbeabletostandforextendedperiodsoftime,andstoop,bendcrouch,asrequiredtoperformkeyduties. - Mustbephysicallyabletorepetitivelyliftandcarryatleast
50lbsonaregularbasis. - Frequentlyworkwithhandsextendedoverhead,andtheuseofarmsandhandsinrepetitivemotions.
- Maintainconstantalertnesstothemultipleconcurrentactivitiesincludingtheactivitiesofotheremployeesandsubcontractors,theoperationofstationaryandequipmentandthemovementofmobileequipment.
- Mustbeabletooperatetoolsandequipmentsafety
- Useofpersonalprotectionequipmentisrequired
