MEDICAL ASSISTANT - 40 hours - Adult Medicine - Chicopee

• Prepare patients for office visits; escort to treatment room.
• Obtain pertinent patient information for medical record and document in chart.
• Process patient telephone calls and correspondence for the practice.
• Organize and prioritize duties for efficiency and positive patient outcomes.
• Scribe patient information on a regular basis.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms and ensure proper clothing for expected exams or minor surgeries.
• Enter history including chief complaint, medical and surgical history, allergies, medications, review of systems; take/document vital signs.
• Serve as a scribe between patient and physician in treatment rooms.
• Process and file all lab/diagnostic test results, correspondence, and clinical notes in the chart after physician review.
• Coordinate patient flow; collaborate with receptionist to ensure timely patient appointments.
• Assist front office personnel by answering telephone, scheduling appointments, and other tasks as needed.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of six (6) months related work experience required.
• Preferred: knowledge associated with obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Medical Assistance.
• Preferred:
  National Certification as a Medical Assistant.

$18.00 - $26.10 per hour.

• Day shift – Full Time – 40 Hours.
