Processes member purchases in a courteous and friendly manner, verifies and renews memberships, scans merchandise, and accepts various forms of payments. Provides excellent member service efficiently, maintaining cleanliness in the front-line department.

• Exhibit clear understanding of all BJ’s Membership options and offer renewals and loyalty programs.
• Provide high-level customer service, checking members out efficiently.
• Use a point-of-sale system to scan all merchandise and manage inventory counts.
• Collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments and issue receipts or change.
• Stay up to date on promotions, advertisements, and product information, applying coupons.
• Maintain cleanliness of the front line area and assist with general club housekeeping.
• Return re‑sellable merchandise to the sales floor.
• Manage self-checkout and scan/pan lanes, assisting members with technical difficulties.
• Meet cashier productivity expectations and follow all club policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
• Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Basic math skills preferred.
• Prior cashier or sales experience preferred.

• Work involves frequent movement on hard surfaces, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds, with occasional heavier loads.
• Indoor work in a comfortable environment with infrequent exposure to temperature extremes, loud noises, and cleaning agents.

According to Pay Transparency requirements, the pay range for this position is $16.25 – $19.50 per hour.
