The Field Performance Technicians are responsible for the management, scheduling, and completion of all service and warranty related work. The Field Service / Field Performance Technician must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of the Performance O&M team. This position will interact closely with the customers, Branch Manager, the Senior Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and the centralized scheduling Field Service Team.
The Field Performance Technician 3 perform advanced troubleshooting and complex service diagnosis. This position is also responsible for training and developing other Field Performance team members. The Field Performance Technician 3 must hold an electrical certification per state requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTroubleshoot and resolve solar electric warranty and service issues that arise with: modules, inverters, monitoring and balance of system components
Investigate and mitigate any reported roof leaks including thorough documentation: complete roof leak checklist, photos and written observations
Communicate with the Construction Supervisor, and Engineering Team members to resolve any redline issues
Receive, update and complete Field Service Dispatches (FSDs) with Service Dashboard in Salesforce
Ensuring the timely communication and completion of service and warranty work with an emphasis on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction
Develop and refine processes and gain technical skills related to service work for residential solar photovoltaic systems following department policy to prepare for advanced technical skills as FPT
2.Organize, lead, and maintain the warranty and service schedule.
Work with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and the Branch Manager to allocate labor resources to service and warranty projects as needed
Assist with training and development for Field Service Technicians and Field Communications Technicians.
Lead regular meetings to align and train the local field service team on best practices
Support the on-boarding and training of new members of the field performance team
Regularly exceed defined goals for field performance key performance indicators including but not limited to turnaround time, experience rating and average dispatches completed
Assist with other tasks including inspections and site audits when assigned
In addition to the responsibilities of the Field Performance Tech 2, the position must possess a valid Journeyman License/Electrician Certification or equivalent per local and state requirements, e.g. wireman license
Knowledge of the NEC and applicable codes and standards

Electrical/PV Installation Knowledge:
Working knowledge of current NEC codes. Ability to interpret single line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter. Demonstrates knowledge of electrical principles as it pertains to solar interconnection/tie-in and code and how PV systems operate. Understands interconnection activities.
