Night Driver Position

Position SummaryGranite City is looking for a professional Driver to join our delivery team in Chicopee, MA. Approximate hours are 8:00 PM–6:00 AM, Monday–Friday, 4 nights per week. The Night Driver will load the truck, drive to customer locations and other GCE hubs, unload, and deliver product in a timely, efficient, and safe manner. The candidate will maintain the vehicle in good condition and ensure paperwork is current and accurate, and provide superior customer service.
CompensationHourly rate: $27.00–$30.00. Excellent employee benefits including:

- Deliver material to customers efficiently and safely.
- Conduct pre‑and post‑trip inspections.
- Ensure truck is in safe operating condition, clean and professional, and adheres to DOT regulations.
- Effectively communicate with external customers while providing first‑class delivery service.
- Provide feedback to supervisors to maintain efficiency in driving routes.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge of GCE policies and procedures, participate in training, and attend meetings as requested.
- Maintain professional appearance.
- Participate in processes and programs aimed at promoting a safe work environment.
- Follow all SOPs for the position, maintain high order accuracy and on‑time delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years professional driving experience.
- Knowledge of forklift operations and warehouse equipment preferred.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, Medical DOT Card.
- Experience with routing software preferred.
- Professional driving skills with valid license.
- Effective communication with internal and external customers.
- Good math and reading skills.
- Ability to understand maps/GPS.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit.
- Ability to push/pull/lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to bend, twist, and stoop frequently.
- Ability to climb in and out of truck routinely.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
