Job Overview:
Automation Robotics and Controls (ARC) is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Outside Technical Sales Representative to join our sales group. This role is ideal for someone with a technical mindset who enjoys working directly with customers, sourcing parts, and providing accurate product information.
In this role, you will visit customer sites, build relationships, identify new business opportunities, and support the full sales process—from initial inquiry to order fulfillment. You’ll work closely with engineering, purchasing, and project management to ensure customers receive accurate information and smooth overall experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit customer locations to discuss needs, review applications, strengthen customer relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding parts, components, and products related to automation systems.
- Prepare and issue accurate quotes with timely follow-up and clear communication.
- Process sales orders and track them through delivery, providing regular updates to customers.
- Collaborate with Engineers, Purchasing, and Project Managers to support ongoing projects and proposals.
- Assist with sourcing and pricing components, working with vendors and manufacturers as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date customer records, sales data, and product information in internal systems.
- Support general administrative sales tasks to ensure a smooth daily workflow within the department.
Skills &
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in a technical or business-related field (Preferred)
- 1–3 years of experience in technical sales, ideally within automation, manufacturing, or industrial components.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn and clearly explain complex product offerings to customers.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts and prioritize requests effectively.
- Professional appearance and demeanor with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel to customer sites and represent ARC in a professional manner.
