Wire Operations Specialist

Primary Purpose Of Job

Responsible for conducting various transactions through core bank processing software, and other system applications; while observing internal controls.

• Ensures the confidentiality of customer non-public personal information and secures information systems to comply with bank regulations.

• Process incoming and outgoing wire transactions through all areas of core bank processing software, and other system applications, in a timely and accurate manner under minimal supervision including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Domestic and international wire requests
  • Calculate exchange rates related to foreign currency wires
  • Verify funds availability
• Communicate with branch staff and management regarding wire transfer
• Daily phone interaction with authorized callers/customers performing outgoing wire requests
• Strong attention to detail in order to maintain the highest level of accuracy
• Perform callback verification to verify transaction details and authenticity of transaction
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality while dealing with sensitive customer information
• Assist in gathering wire data for daily and weekly review
• Monitor transfers for fraudulent transactions, identifying and researching suspicious activity
• Notify BSA Department of any suspicious activity and coordinate proper compliance approval for any filed OFAC wire transfers
• Understand and follow regulatory requirements, bank policy and procedures associated with daily tasks; and security protocols
• Complete other duties assigned by the Wire Operations Department

• High school diploma or equivalent
