Packaging Engineer, Manufacturing Production

While reporting to the Shift Supervisor, as an inspector packer you will be responsible for packing thermoformed trays in a quick and safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment. You must have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line.
You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Retrieve parts from trim press
- Place parts in specified relationship to each other
- Inspect stacks of parts for defects
- Place parts in bag, seal bag and place in corrugated boxes
- Tend machines, such as trim press and pack station parts handling equipment
- Cut and stack sheet when needed
- Grind sheet and trays as needed
- Build and/or stage all packaging material per Product Specification
- Fill out label and flow bills correctly
- Use pallet jacks to place skids of product in warehouse
- Assist Operator when starting line
- Help train new employees when necessary
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Must be able to correctly follow housekeeping policy
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Other duties as requested by Supervisor
This position is in our Plastics plant in beautiful Chillicothe, Missouri where we are producing plastic thermoformed trays.
We’d love to hear from you if:
- Previous experience in packing/warehousing is extremely helpful
- To succeed in this role you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working independently and managing multiple tasks simultaneously is needed.
- Being reliable, having good initiative, being committed, and being quality focused is a must.
- You will need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
- Having the ability to effectively work with a team in a fast-paced environment is crucial to success.
- You will need to have the ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
- You will need to able to perform repetitious duties, including stairs and standing for long periods of time.
- You will need to have the ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- No prior manufacturing experience required.
