IT Installation Engineer – Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM)

Location: 5 days on-site eitherin

Ann Arbor MI, Chillicothe, OH, Wyoming, MI, or Battle Creek, MI plus 30% travel to U.S.

-based medical training sites

Clearance: U.S. Citizenship Required, Public Trust preferred

Employment Type: 1099 contract

We’re seeking a technically skilled, people-friendly Installation Engineer to support a high-impact Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) initiative. This hands-on role involves leading IT installations and support operations at medical training facilities nationwide. You’ll be responsible for managing on-site teams, overseeing network connectivity and hardware deployments, and ensuring seamless technical support during training events.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on-site teams in deploying and configuring IT systems (hardware imaging, software installation, troubleshooting).
• Set up and maintain IP and Wi-Fi network connectivity across training locations.
• Conduct system imaging, perform security scans, and manage Active Directory (AD) integration.
• Support break/fix repairs, software updates, and end-user troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate inventory and ensure full IT operational readiness for all training events.
• Produce clear, timely technical reports and communicate issues to stakeholders.
• Operate independently with strong situational awareness and problem-solving ability.
• Transport and install IT equipment (up to 50 lbs.); navigate training and server areas efficiently.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and valid driver’s license.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT-related field and 10+ years of IT experience or 18 years in lieu of a degree.
• Strong expertise in IP networks, Wi-Fi systems, and hardware/software deployments.
• Proven experience leading technical teams in the field.
• Hands-on with system imaging, hardware troubleshooting, and deployment tools.
• Physically able to travel extensively and meet manual handling demands.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Windows desktop deployments.
• Previous role as a Tier 2 Help Desk Technician or similar support position.
• Existing Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.
• Familiarity with network traffic analysis and connectivity diagnostics.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
