The Alchemy Team is seeking a detail-oriented  Tax Preparer  to support corporate tax preparation, personal tax preparation and filing, year-end accounting work, and T5 filings.

This is a remote, part-time position. Work will be assigned based on business needs and client engagements, and weekly hours may vary depending on workload and project requirements. The successful candidate will report to the Business Owner and the Operations Manager, and must have their own computer/device and reliable internet connection.

About The Position
Alchemy is looking for a detail-oriented  Tax Preparer (Canadian Taxes)  to support our clients' corporate and personal tax needs. In this role, you will play an important part in preparing T2 corporate tax returns, filing T1 personal tax returns and T5 slips, reviewing bookkeeping records for tax readiness, and maintaining organized working papers and documentation. You will also help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant tax preparation while delivering a high-touch experience to our clients.

Prepare and file  T1 Personal Income Tax Returns  to CRA

Prepare and file  T5 slips / dividend reporting  to CRA

Review prior-year working papers and roll forward files for the current tax year

Review Quick Books Online records and supporting documentation to ensure files are complete for tax preparation

Request and organize required tax documentation from clients

Prepare year-end adjusting journal entries where required

Review shareholder loan accounts, owner draws/contributions, retained earnings, and profitability to support dividend recommendations

Confirm dividend amounts with clients and record dividend-related entries in Quick Books Online following T5 preparation
