The Opportunity
We’re seeking an Operator to join our team in the Fraser Valley supporting civil construction projects across the region. As an Operator, you’ll work with a crew on site to get daily work done safely and on time. You’ll work hands‑on with a skilled crew in the field, ensuring safety, and efficiency every step of the way. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, tackling big challenges, and being part of projects that shape communities.
Although we are a union affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.
Your
Key Responsibilities
Cut and finish grades for ditches, berms, and slopes to design elevations and tolerances, maintaining precise line, level, and crossfall while meeting production, safety, and quality standards.
Perform excavation and grading safely around multiple existing utilities—coordinate locates, maintain required clearances, use spotters, and follow utility maps and procedures.
Loading trucks, spreading material, digging trenches.
Safely operate in accordance with company and WorkSafeBC standards.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Conduct daily inspections on machines prior to use.
Participate in daily/weekly site meetings.
Communicate updates and issues to the Field Supervisor/Superintendent; request support as needed.
Able to assist ground crew if needed or perform other general labour duties as required.
Your
Qualifications & Skills
Civil Construction mainline experience, excavating around utilities
Experience operating excavator, loader, dozer, skid steer, backhoe.
Cut and finish grades for ditches, berms, and slopes to design elevations and tolerances, maintaining precise line, level, and crossfall while meeting production, safety, and quality standards.
Perform excavation and grading safely around multiple existing utilities—coordinate locates, maintain required clearances, use spotters, and follow utility maps and procedures.
Communicate updates and issues to the Field Supervisor/Superintendent; request support as needed.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Proven ability to work effectively and safely in a team environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing project demands.
Excellent punctuality and attendance.
Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean abstract required.
Flexible and willing to assist with tasks beyond machinery duties when needed.
Level 2 or 3 First Aid Training an asset

Union hourly rate: $41.64 – 44.96 per hour.
